Welcome to Day 19, of the MADE FOR MORE podcast! I’m Jacqui, and today’s focus is living for God’s Glory, not our own. Everything we do—whether big or small—is meant to reflect His greatness. Let’s talk about how we can align our actions, thoughts, and motives with His glory.
Scripture
Let’s start today with a powerful scripture from “1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Reflection
1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us that every aspect of our lives-big or small-can be an act of worship when done for the glory of God. Paul encourages believers to approach even the most ordinary activities, like eating and drinking, with a heart that honour’s God. This verse teaches us that there is no separation between our spiritual life and our daily life; everything we do can reflect our love for God and our commitment to live in a way that brings Him honour. This perspective calls us to be intentional in our actions, attitudes, and decisions, choosing to live with purpose and integrity. By dedicating every part of our lives to God’s glory, we cultivate a mindset of gratitude and reverence. Whether through work, relationships, service, or even our hobbies, we can shine His light by seeking to reflect His love and goodness.
Take a moment to reflect on how God has designed your life with purpose. How does the truth, that everything you do—whether big or small—should be done for the glory of God, shape the way you see yourself today? Remember, every aspect of our lives can be an act of worship. For me: Embracing this mindset was a process. I had to learn that everything I do should reflect my love for God—not just attending church on Sundays, but worshiping Him daily through my actions, attitudes, and decisions. He wants to be involved in every detail of our lives. I now make it a point to be intentional in how I live, choosing to approach each day with purpose and integrity. It’s not about us; it’s about what God wants to accomplish through us.
Application: Living with Intentionality
Now, let’s talk about how to apply this truth to your life. Reflect on the everyday actions and routines in your life. How can you approach these with the mindset of doing them for God’s glory? Ask God to help you live intentionally, seeing each moment as an opportunity to honour Him whether hat’s by lending a hand, showing compassion, or offering a listening ear. This mindset shift can be powerful, bringing joy and purpose as we seek to serve with genuine love. Consider ways you can turn ordinary tasks into acts of worship. For example, working with integrity, speaking kindly, and expressing gratitude are all ways to bring glory to God in daily life. Think about how your actions might impact others. When we live for God’s Glory, our actions often become a testimony of His love to those around us. Ask God to help you reflect His goodness in how you treat others and handle responsibilities.
Prayer: Let’s pray together.
Father, thank You for the reminder that every part of my life can be an act of worship. Help me to live with purpose, seeking to honour You in everything I do, from the simplest task to the greatest challenge. Teach me to approach each moment with a heart that desires to glorify You. Let my actions reflect Your love, patience, and kindness to those around me. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness, and may I find joy and fulfilment in knowing that every moment can bring honour to Your name. Guide me in all I do, so that my life points others toward You. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
