Welcome to Day 20, of the MADE FOR MORE podcast! I’m Jacqui, and today we’re exploring the importance of encouraging others in their calling. When we lift others up and cheer them on, we all move forward together. Let’s dive into how you can be an encouragement to those around you as they walk in their purpose.
Scripture
Let’s start today with a powerful scripture from “Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
Reflection
Hebrews 10:24 encourages us to actively support and inspire one another in living out our faith. This verse calls us to be intentional about encouraging each other “toward love and good deeds:’ It’s a reminder that our faith is not meant to be lived out in isolation; rather, we are part of a community where we can help each other grow, share burdens, and inspire one another to keep pursuing God’s love and purpose. To “spur one another on” suggests an active effort to lift each other up, especially during times of struggle or doubt. We all need reminders to keep our focus on loving others and serving in ways that honour God. By encouraging each other in this way, we build a community that reflects God’s love and becomes a powerful witness to those around us.
Take a moment to think about how God has designed your life with purpose. Are you encouraged and ready to walk in your calling? How does this truth shape the way you see yourself today? For me: I noticed that the things I went through in life shaped me intothe person I am today. I am designed with love, purpose and intention. My life is poetry, written by God. I am recreated in Jesus, I have a new identity. Every gift, talent and passion He placed in me is there to bring beauty, hope and change to the world. I am stepping into a life destined for me full of meaning and purpose. My life verse: God is able to do more than I can imagine, dream, or think – all glory to Him. My story is in motion and so are yours.
Application: Encouraging others in faith
Now, let’s talk about how to apply this truth to your life. Think about the people in your life who might need encouragement to keep loving and serving. Reach out with a word of encouragement or offer to pray for them. Sometimes, a simple gesture of support can make a significant difference. Reflect on ways you can be intentional about building up the community around you. Whether in your church, family, or friendships, consider how you can help others pursue love and good deeds. Ask God to show you how to be a source of strength and encouragement. Our own actions can inspire others to love and do good. Look for opportunities to live out love and service, knowing that by doing so, you might inspire others to do the same. Being faithful in small acts of kindness and service can have a ripple effect in your community.
Prayer: Let’s pray together.
Lord, thank You for placing me in a community of faith where we can encourage one another. Help me to be intentional in supporting and inspiring others to love and serve. Show me ways to be a source of encouragement, especially to those who might feel weary or discouraged. Give me the courage to lead by example, living a life that reflects Your love and kindness. May our community grow stronger in love and good deeds as we seek to honour You together. Let my words and actions be a light to others, and may our shared faith bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
