Day 4: New creation in Christ

Welcome to Day 4! Today, we’re exploring what it means to be a new creation in Christ. No matter your past, God is in the business of transformation, and He’s making all things new in your life. Let’s dive in—you were made for more.”

Scripture:
Let’s start today with a powerful scripture from 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

Reflection:
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 reminds us of the miraculous transformation that takes place when we come to Christ. In Him, we are given a fresh start- the “old” us, with all our past mistakes and regrets, is left behind. We’re not defined by our past but by the new life Christ has given us. This change is more than a personal renewal; it’s part of God’s plan to bring the world back into harmony with Him. As He reconciles us to Himself, He also entrusts us with a special mission: to share His message of reconciliation with others. We are His ambassadors, called to reflect His love, forgiveness, and hope in a broken world. Knowing this, we can live each day as a witness to the new life we’ve been given. Take a moment to think about this. Are you free, do you have hope? How does this truth reflect the way you see yourself?

For me: It is such a relief, knowing I am a new creation in Christ. Thiswas not always the case. I was caught up in my past, I was losing hope, did not see a way out, had an encounter with the Lord and my life has never been the same. I have so much thankfulness in my heart of what Jesus did on the cross for me. I have new life, hope and purpose.

Application: Trust in God’s ongoing work in you Now, let’s talk about how to apply this truth to your life. Transformation is a journey, so be patient with yourself as you grow in this new life. Trust that God is continually working in you, helping you live out His purpose and reflect His grace to the world. Just as God has restored your relationship with Him, reach out to others in love and forgiveness. Whether through words or actions, look for opportunities to share His message of hope and restoration.

Prayer: Let’s pray together.
Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Thank You for removing the old, broken parts of me and filling me with new life, hope, and purpose. Help me to fully embrace this new identity and to let go of anything from my past that holds me back. Lord, as You have reconciled me to Yourself, give me the courage and love to be a messenger of Your reconciliation to others. May my words and actions reflect Your grace, forgiveness, and hope. Continue to shape me each day, so I may live out the purpose You have placed in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
