The Gift of Eternal Love by Vincent Kiplagat

Scripture:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”-
John 3:16

Devotion:

Christmas is a celebration of the greatest gift ever given: God’s love made manifest in the birth of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 reveals the heart of the gospel—God’s unwavering love for humanity. In His great mercy, He gave His only Son to be the Savior of the world, a gift we neither earned nor deserved.

This eternal love is the foundation of our hope. It reminds us that we are not forgotten or abandoned but deeply cherished by our Creator. The birth of Jesus in a humble manger marked the beginning of God’s plan to rescue us from sin and offer us everlasting life.

This Christmas, let us pause to reflect on this incredible gift. It’s not just a story from long ago but a living truth that transforms lives today. May the hope of God’s eternal love fill your heart and lead you to share that hope with others.

Questions:

1. How does knowing that God gave His Son for you personally impact your understanding of His love?
2. In what ways can you reflect the love of God to others during this Christmas season?
3. What does the hope of eternal life mean to you, and how does it shape your daily life?
4. Are there areas in your life where you need to let the light of Christ bring hope and healing?
5. How can you use this season to share the message of John 3:16 with someone who needs encouragement?
6. What steps can you take to ensure your Christmas celebrations focus on the gift of Jesus rather than worldly distractions?

Prayer:

Loving Father, thank You for the precious gift of Jesus Christ, the embodiment of Your eternal love. Help us to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and find hope in the promise of salvation. May we live each day reflecting Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
